UGGS and stilettos would not normally be sighted in the same room. But the Fairmont Banff Springs Sports Invitational held this past weekend saw all that and more. No grizzlies however-but lots of cougars!

The spritied live and silent auction held at the Gala Saturday evening saw serious coin raised for Waterkeeper Alliance-Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s fave charity. Tutty’s canvas sold for a cool $7 grand and was purchased by actor Jonathan Silverman of The Single Guy fame.

Just in time for the centennial celebration of the Calgary Stampede, Cowboys Dance Hall opens its doors tonight with a sold-out concert featuring the band Sublime. The ‘old’ Cowboys was known for its full-on party atmosphere and great people watching. As evidenced by this photo, the latter is guaranteed at the ‘new’ Cowboys.
